This specialist role focuses on the development and management of digital offerings for the Water Hazard Consulting Center within the State Office for the Environment (LfU) in Flintbek, Schleswig-Holstein. You will be instrumental in supporting municipal prevention and adaptation strategies against heavy rainfall and inland flooding. Key responsibilities include the conceptual advancement of consulting services, maintaining and developing the center's website, and enhancing the availability of specialized flood prevention data through online portals. Furthermore, you will contribute to the improvement of water level forecasting, potentially involving AI applications. The position requires a university degree (Bachelor/Dipl.-Ing. FH) in relevant fields such as Geoinformatics, Environmental Engineering, or Hydrology, combined with foundational knowledge of water hazard management and geospatial data. This is a challenging, fixed-term opportunity (until December 31, 2028) that demands strong self-management, analytical thinking, and fluent German to effectively communicate complex technical information to governmental bodies and water associations.

Required Skills

Education

University Degree (Bachelor, Dipl.-Ing. FH) in Geography, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Civil Engineering (specializing in Water Management), Urban and Regional Planning, Geoinformatics, Informatics, or a comparable university degree.
