Job Summary
This is a high-responsibility role within the City of Duisburg's Road Construction Authority, focusing on the strategic development, project control, and coordination of comprehensive road construction and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will manage significant transportation infrastructure projects, acting as the client and owner's representative. Day-to-day tasks involve establishing, updating, and coordinating construction and investment programs for public infrastructure, preparing performance specifications for maintenance and operation, and participating in political committee meetings to advise and present proposals. This position requires a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, significant professional experience in relevant fields like traffic engineering or construction management, and strong project control expertise, offering a stable, full-time position in public service.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree (or equivalent university diploma) in Civil Engineering, preferably specializing in Traffic Engineering, Road and Pathway Construction, or Construction Operations Management. For Beamte: Qualification for the higher technical administrative service (Laufbahngruppe 2, second entry level).
Experience
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience following the acquisition of the required Master's degree
- In-depth knowledge of project control and the specific task area
- Experience in preparing and monitoring construction and investment programs
- Experience participating in political committee meetings (advising/presenting)
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driving license is required. Willingness to use a private vehicle for work purposes is desirable. Eligibility for public service employment (Beamter) or equivalent qualification for salaried employees (Beschäftigte) is required.
