Job Summary
This role involves operating and continuously developing the IT systems for the MDR (Central German Broadcasting) editorial and video Content Management Systems (CMS), along with associated peripheral systems. The System Administrator will be responsible for system configuration, monitoring, implementing changes, and thorough documentation. A key aspect of the job is collaborative work within an ARD-wide (Consortium of Public Broadcasters in Germany) team to ensure seamless operation and advancement of these critical media production applications. Candidates should possess a degree or vocational training in Informatics or Media Technology, coupled with experience in IT system administration and familiarity with editorial and audio/video CMS. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, operating systems, and experience with modern containerization and orchestration tools like Docker/Podman and Kubernetes/OpenShift, ensuring the stability and performance of microservice architectures.
Required Skills
Education
University degree or vocational training in Informatics, Media Informatics, Communication, or Media Technology, or a comparable technical field
Experience
- Experience in the administration of IT systems
- Knowledge of editorial systems and audio/video Content Management Systems
- Experience with container platforms (Docker or Podman)
- Experience in handling and configuring monitoring solutions
