Job Summary

This role involves supporting the molecular genetic diagnostics team within a leading university hospital's Institute of Human Genetics, focusing specifically on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) diagnostics. The professional will be crucial in establishing and validating new molecular genetic laboratory diagnostic methods, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Day-to-day tasks include close cooperation with medical and laboratory management, supporting technical staff and the results team in analyzing Exome and Genome sequencing data, and acting as the primary contact person for molecular genetic diagnostics for patient care. The ideal candidate holds a scientific university degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field, possesses a keen interest in molecular genetics and medical topics, and ideally has experience with NGS analysis, data evaluation, and variant assessment in a medical laboratory setting. This is a full-time, two-year fixed-term position offering highly responsible laboratory work without night or weekend shifts.
