Job Summary
This role involves working as a Senior Officer/Food Chemist within the Department for Plant-Based Foods at the Thuringian State Office for Consumer Protection (TLV) in Bad Langensalza. The position is a part-time parental leave replacement until April 2027. Day-to-day responsibilities include the sensory and chemical analysis of foodstuffs, particularly fats, oils, oilseeds, and prepared dishes, utilizing sophisticated analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, and GC-MS. A core function is the evaluation of these foods based on national and European food law, resulting in the creation of court-admissible expert opinions and statements. Furthermore, the role requires establishing new testing methods and preparing them for accreditation, ensuring the laboratory maintains high quality standards.
