Job Summary

This role involves conducting critical research within the project "Changes in Agriculture and Impacts on Wildlife in Open Country" for the Agricultural Center for Cattle Husbandry, Grassland Management, Dairy Farming, Game and Fisheries Baden-Württemberg (LAZBW). The Research Associate will analyze existing agricultural usage data across selected reference areas, correlating it with climatic conditions over recent decades using time series and spatio-temporal analysis. Key responsibilities include assessing agricultural use via satellite imagery and developing scenarios for future agricultural change, estimating the resulting impacts on native wildlife species. This position requires a Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Agrarian, Geo, or Biosciences), expertise in landscape modeling and complex statistical data analysis, and strong communication skills, offering an opportunity to contribute significantly to habitat suitability assessments and ecological planning in a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment.
