Job Summary

This role seeks a highly motivated specialist to lead the Core Facility for Mechanical and Thermal Materials Characterization, a pivotal resource focused on analyzing the mechanical and thermal properties of complex materials, including nanocomposites and cell-laden hydrogels. The Core Facility Manager acts as the institute's expert, providing professional service, training, and guidance to INM scientists on advanced methodologies such as rheology, tensile testing, Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). Key responsibilities include hands-on methods development, proactively expanding the facility's methodological portfolio, managing equipment maintenance, and developing the Research Data Management Plan. Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, possess proven experience in materials mechanics, and demonstrate excellent communication skills for collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
