Job Summary

This role supports the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL) in advancing 'One Health' initiatives through sophisticated wastewater monitoring and surveillance systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and operating advanced IT infrastructures and data analysis tools used for pathogen detection, including Next-Generation Sequencing data from wastewater samples. Daily tasks involve enhancing laboratory-supported surveillance, developing reporting tools, optimizing processes, and integrating new systems into the existing infrastructure. This position requires expertise in data-driven pattern recognition, trend analysis, and reporting, utilizing programming languages like Python, R, Java, and SQL, and working with Linux server environments. The role is ideal for an engaged professional with a background in Bioinformatics or Computer Science with a focus on Life Sciences, who is eager to contribute to public health protection and scientific publication.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science (with Life Sciences focus), or a comparable Life Sciences discipline
