Job Summary
This is a critical leadership role responsible for establishing and managing the new 'IT Policy and Compliance' division within Germany's largest supplementary pension provider for public sector employees (VBL). The successful candidate will drive the digital transformation, focusing on IT Strategy, Enterprise Architecture, IT Compliance, and IT Organization. Day-to-day activities include developing future-oriented IT strategies for on-premise, cloud, and AI solutions, ensuring regulatory conformity (e.g., DORA, BSI standards, GoBD), and establishing and refining IT processes and methodologies, particularly for outsourced operations. This position requires proven leadership experience in an IT environment, strong strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills in both German and English to lead the team, coach employees, and represent the IT department head in strategic matters, actively shaping VBL's digital future.
Required Skills
Education
University degree, ideally in (Technical or Applied) Computer Science, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration with an IT focus, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Experience
- Several years of professional and personnel leadership experience in the IT environment
- Practical experience with regulatory topics
- Experience in establishing and continuously developing processes and methods
- Very good understanding of IT and strategy
- Experience in creating, evaluating, and developing strategic components
