Job Summary
The VBL, Germany's largest supplementary pension scheme for public sector employees, is seeking a Head of Operational IT Planning and Control to lead a newly established department focused on driving digital transformation. This leadership role involves building and managing the 'Operational IT Planning and Control' unit, which centralizes procurement, contract management, service and asset management, finance, overall planning, and GoLive release management. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical and personnel leadership of the team, actively shaping the strategic direction of the IT department. Key responsibilities include planning and steering external IT services, negotiating DORA-compliant IT contracts, managing the annual IT budget, and ensuring the continuous development and coaching of team members. This position requires strong leadership skills, expertise in IT service management and contract controlling, and a proactive, analytical approach to problem-solving, contributing significantly to a secure and future-proof IT operation.
Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university degree, ideally in (Technical or Applied) Computer Science, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration with an IT focus, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Experience
- Several years of technical and personnel leadership experience in the IT environment
- Professional experience in service control and IT planning
- Professional experience in contract management and controlling
