Job Summary

The Technical University of Dresden (TUD), a leading German Excellence University, is seeking a Research Associate/PhD Candidate to join the Institute of Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering and Electronics. This role focuses on the investigation and design of energy-efficient modulator driver chips, specifically within the DFG-funded PLASMODICS project. The core objective is the high-frequency chip design and investigation of a driver circuit for novel plasmonic ring modulators with ultra-low modulation voltages. Key tasks involve researching, designing, analyzing, optimizing, implementing, and measuring customized modulator drivers, focusing on innovative circuit concepts for high bandwidth, high energy efficiency, and performance/energy adaptivity. The position offers the opportunity for scientific qualification (PhD) and utilizes advanced SiGe-BiCMOS and scaled CMOS technologies, contributing to future 5G/6G communication and sensor systems.
