Job Summary

The City of Frankfurt is seeking an Operational License Manager to join their IT Service Management department, playing a critical role in the city's digital future by managing software licenses for over 15,000 users. This position involves the daily operation of the Software Life-Cycle and operational license management processes, acting as the central contact point for centrally managed software products and licenses. Key responsibilities include establishing and controlling license processes, supporting internal and external software audits, managing central license pools, and overseeing software procurement approvals. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree or vocational training in IT or Administration, combined with several years of professional experience in license management. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft licensing law and other major vendors (VMware, Adobe, Oracle) is required, along with practical experience using license management tools like SNOW. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor of Arts) in Digital Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent; OR completed vocational training as Administrative Specialist, IT Specialist, Data Processing Clerk, IT System Clerk, or IT System Electronics Technician, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in license management (required for vocational training paths)
  • Practical experience with the license management tool SNOW (desirable)
  • Experience with internal and external software audits
  • Experience in managing central license pools

Additional
