Job Summary

This role is seeking a Lead Scientist specializing in Downstream Processing (DSP) and Upstream Processing (USP) within BioProcessing to drive the next generation of novel biologics and vaccines. The successful candidate will lead research efforts in laboratory and pilot scales, focusing on innovative technologies for process-intensified, autonomous, and cost-effective workflows. Key responsibilities include leading and coordinating a team of lab assistants and technicians, managing material supply for research projects, and supporting external technology scouting to expand collaboration networks. The position requires a PhD in Bioprocess Engineering, profound knowledge of therapeutic protein purification using single-use technologies, and proven experience in process development and team leadership. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills in both German and English are essential for balancing dynamic research activities with production campaigns.
