Job Summary

This critical leadership role involves the operational and strategic management of the Environmental Protection Department at the University of Stuttgart, a major employer and research institution. The successful candidate will act as the university's certified Dangerous Goods Officer and Operational Waste Officer, overseeing four staff members and managing all aspects of dangerous goods, waste management, water protection, and immission control. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating disposal companies, managing the dangerous goods warehouse, and providing expert support to research facilities regarding hazardous waste disposal. Key qualifications include a Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field, recognized certifications as a Dangerous Goods Officer (ADR/IATA-DGR) and Operational Waste Officer (or willingness to obtain it), along with proven experience in environmental and safety management, preferably within a complex organizational setting like a university.
