Job Summary
This role involves supporting the IT Manager in ensuring IT security within a complex network structure, including numerous servers and IT systems at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The successful candidate will work closely with central IT management, information management, and IT security teams. A significant part of the role also includes supporting the workshop operations and flight test team for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Day-to-day tasks will involve planning, installing, and developing in-house IT systems, implementing and monitoring IT security, and maintaining the departmental IT infrastructure. Additionally, the role includes performing modifications and maintenance on the unmanned aircraft fleet and preparing for flight tests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in aerospace, working with interdisciplinary teams and unique infrastructure.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) or comparable relevant vocational training
Experience
- Professional experience in IT security, administration of standard IT, networks, and software equipment
- Extensive practical experience in Windows and Linux environments
- Long-term, comprehensive, and proficient experience in software development, database, and web-based applications
- Long-term professional experience in operating and administering current server and client operating systems
- Basic practical experience in mechanics, electrics, and soldering
