Job Summary
This role is a pivotal technical expert position focused on ensuring the availability and reliability of rail vehicles, specifically within the Munich S-Bahn project, at Siemens Mobility. Day-to-day responsibilities include acting as the central technical contact, analyzing and localizing rail vehicle malfunctions using specialized remote diagnostic tools, and independently executing initial corrective measures. The expert will manage tasks via a ticketing system, create maintenance recommendations, and support the Engineering team with software testing, product development, and technical inquiries. A key component of the job involves collaboration in commissioning, conducting system and type tests, and participating in vehicle approvals. Candidates must possess a technical degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, or equivalent technical training plus a Technician qualification and relevant experience in rail vehicle technology. Strong affinity for electronic circuitry, analog/digital technology, and fluency in both German and English are mandatory, alongside readiness for on-call duty and approximately 60% business travel.
Required Skills
Education
Technical Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, or a relevant technical vocational training complemented by a Technician qualification.
Experience
- Initial professional experience in technical support (required with Bachelor's degree)
- Several years of experience in a technical role in the rail vehicle sector (required with Technician qualification)
- Professional experience with Zugsteuerungs- und Sicherungssystemen (Train Control and Safety Systems) or interest in acquiring knowledge
- Experience working with Ticket, Diagnosis, and Monitoring systems or interest in acquiring knowledge

- Willingness to participate in on-call duty for technical fault resolution; Readiness for approximately 60% business travel; Willingness to spend extended periods working in Commissioning and Engineering (Software Development and Testing) during the onboarding phase.
