Job Summary
The Ruhr-Universität Bochum is seeking a full-time, permanent IT Technician to join the Faculty of Computer Science, specifically supporting the Information Security and Quantum Information chairs. This role involves comprehensive IT support, including the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of hardware and software across various operating systems like Linux, macOS, iOS, and Windows, with a focus on cluster environments. The successful candidate will manage specialized software for quantum computing, GPU computing, deep learning, optimization, and mathematics, alongside configuring and maintaining network services, virtualization platforms, and backup solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in IT security and quantum information, providing technical support to faculty and staff while potentially engaging in open-source project development and advanced system configurations.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or comparable field
