Job Summary

This is an exciting, permanent opportunity for an experienced Biologist or Life Scientist to lead the immunological laboratory within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing immunological, cell, and molecular biological research projects, establishing new research directions, and coordinating the entire working group. A key focus will be expanding innovative methods, including the development of organoids, artificial organs, single-cell RNA sequencing, and immunophenotyping using spectral cytometry. This role requires strong administrative skills, experience in third-party funding acquisition (intramural and extramural), and a commitment to presenting and publishing research findings internationally. The position offers the possibility of establishing an independent research direction and pursuing habilitation within a supportive university medical environment that emphasizes research, teaching, and clinical care.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Diplom [University]/Master) in Biology, Molecular Medicine, Biochemistry, or a comparable field in Life Sciences, and a relevant PhD

Experience

  • Professional experience with primary cell cultures
  • Professional experience in flow cytometry
  • Professional experience in imaging or the establishment of organoids
  • Experience in the evaluation and presentation of scientific results
  • Experience in writing manuscripts for the publication of scientific data
  • Advantageous: Experience handling laboratory animals
