Job Summary

This role is crucial for driving the digital transformation within an accredited environmental laboratory, part of the DB Engineering & Consulting Group. The Specialist will be responsible for implementing and continuously developing laboratory digitalization solutions, primarily leveraging the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse) to enhance data quality and process efficiency. Day-to-day tasks involve developing and maintaining SQL queries, scripts, and intelligent interfaces for processing lab data, automating recurring workflows, and ensuring quality assurance. A key function is the development and improvement of KPI and quality dashboards using Power BI. Candidates must possess a background in Bioinformatics, Chemoinformatics, Chemistry, or a related field, coupled with practical experience in digitalization projects and managing lab processes via a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This position offers the opportunity to shape the future IT landscape of an environmental analysis lab, ensuring compliance with standards like DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and maintaining high data integrity.

Required Skills

Education

Successful completion of a university degree in Bioinformatics, Chemoinformatics, Chemistry, or a relevant comparable qualification related to Laboratory Informatics.

Experience

  • Practical experience in digitalization projects
  • Practical experience in managing laboratory processes using LIMS
  • Professional experience with data architecture, interfaces, and workflow automation
  • Practical experience applying the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Experience in programming and scripting (e.g., SQL) (Advantageous)
