Job Summary

As an IT System Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the punctuality and availability of trains by digitizing and automating maintenance processes. Based in Munich, your day-to-day work involves creating technical concepts for IT solutions and documenting them in Confluence. You will be responsible for automating maintenance tasks for rail vehicles using .NET tools and PowerShell scripts, while also managing the full lifecycle of these solutions through release and maintenance phases. This role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reliable system operations and provides third-level support for troubleshooting on-site at maintenance facilities. This position is unique because it combines high-level system architecture with hands-on field support in the railway industry, offering the chance to work on complex interfaces between software and physical rail infrastructure. It is an ideal role for someone who enjoys structured problem-solving and wants to contribute to sustainable, high-tech transportation solutions.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a comparable technical field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the conception, development, and operation of IT solutions
  • Proven experience in the administration and/or architecture of Windows systems
  • Practical experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare Workstation
  • Experience in automation and optimization of software-supported processes
  • Experience working with stakeholders and providing technical support
