Job Summary

This role involves defining and implementing the test architecture for Railigent X, Siemens Mobility's open IoT platform that leverages AI for rail asset management, aiming to increase availability and optimize maintenance. The Test Architect will be a core member of a central platform team, focusing on data-centric solutions, including preprocessing large data volumes, providing data access APIs, and designing/operating the necessary infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating test concepts and specifications based on internal and customer requirements, designing and executing test cases, investigating and documenting deviations, and maintaining/expanding the existing test framework. The ideal candidate must have extensive professional experience testing scalable, cloud-native applications and services that process large volumes of IoT data in real-time, coupled with expertise in container-based infrastructures, event-driven messaging systems, and test automation using Python and Robot Framework.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in testing scalable, cloud-native applications and services that process large IoT data volumes in real-time
  • Comprehensive experience in testing cloud-based applications
  • Comprehensive experience in testing Batch and Stream-Processing Pipelines
  • Extensive knowledge of methodologies for efficient REST API testing in Microservice Architectures
  • Practical experience in testing AI-supported systems (ideally), especially with Large Language Models and generative AI technologies in Big Data environments
