Job Summary

This role is for an IFRS Specialist who will be instrumental in establishing a new dedicated finance department within the Coatings division of BASF, offering a unique opportunity to shape the financial organization from its foundation. The specialist will be responsible for ensuring strict compliance with IFRS standards, assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements, and evaluating complex transactions. Key duties include providing technical IFRS expertise, implementing and monitoring accounting policies, and maintaining thorough documentation to support internal and external audits. The successful candidate will also drive continuous improvement by integrating regulatory updates, training internal IFRS users, and aligning reporting activities with cross-functional teams like treasury and tax. This position requires a university degree, at least three years of IFRS experience in a large multinational setting, comprehensive knowledge of IFRS and SAP, and fluent English skills to succeed in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
