Job Summary

The Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) is seeking an IT Strategy Manager to join their team in Eschborn. This role is crucial for driving digitalization within the agency by planning, coordinating, and monitoring IT activities. You will be responsible for developing forward-looking IT strategies, structuring and reorganizing IT processes, and ensuring compliance with public administration regulations like E-Government and OZG. Day-to-day tasks include applying process and project management knowledge to digitalize administrative procedures, conducting market research, performing economic efficiency analyses, and supporting the selection and implementation of new software solutions. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Administrative Sciences, Economics, or Business Informatics, possesses strong analytical skills, and has a high interest in modern IT topics, ideally coupled with knowledge of public administration law and project experience. This position offers the opportunity to independently lead IT projects, manage budget planning, and contribute to complex federal digitalization initiatives.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor or Diplom FH) in Administrative Sciences, Economics, or Business Informatics, or a comparable degree qualifying for non-technical administrative service.

Experience

  • Professional experience in contributing to projects (ideally)
  • Knowledge of common administrative practice and legal provisions of public administration

German (Fluent)

  • Willingness to undertake domestic business trips lasting one to several days; Consent to undergo a security clearance according to the Federal Security Clearance Act (SÜG).
