Job Summary

This role involves cutting-edge research and development in Software Engineering focused on reliable and safe automated driving systems, specifically utilizing the Autoware stack on a real AI-based automated shuttle. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and implementing software architectures and prototypes, applying modern Software Engineering approaches like agile methodologies, model-based development, and CI/CD pipelines to research projects. A key component of the job is testing and evaluating methods and software directly on the physical test vehicle. This position offers a unique opportunity for immediate practical application of research findings, contribution to interdisciplinary projects, and the pursuit of a Ph.D. at the TU Clausthal in a supportive, innovative environment.

Required Skills

Education

Master's or Diploma degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, or related fields. Opportunity for doctoral studies (Ph.D.) is offered.

Experience

  • Completed Master's or Diploma degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, or related fields
  • Very good to good academic performance in Master's studies
  • Intensive practical experience with ROS2 (ideal)
  • Experience in developing AI methods, especially neural networks
  • Experience with common development tools (Git, CI/CD, IDEs, Issue Tracking)
  • Experience in Software Testing, Runtime Monitoring, or Automated Driving Systems development (desirable)
  • Initial experience with scientific publications or complex software system development project work (desirable)
