Job Summary

This role involves supporting cutting-edge research at the Energy Storage Technologies Research Center (EST) of Clausthal University of Technology, focusing on sustainable energy systems. The technician will be responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of a large-scale water electrolysis plant used for research and testing purposes. Key daily tasks include preparing and coordinating measurement campaigns, operating and monitoring the plant control system, conducting routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components. The ideal candidate must hold a certification as a Chemical Engineering Technician (or equivalent), possess experience with process control systems (ideally Siemens TIA), and have expertise in handling gases, specifically hydrogen, adhering to relevant safety standards like ATEX. This is a full-time, fixed-term position until December 31, 2026, with the aim of continued employment in subsequent projects, offering a dynamic environment at the intersection of research and industry.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of pilot or production plants
  • Experience with gas-conducting experiments and handling hydrogen
  • Experience with online analytics and sampling procedures
