Job Summary

This role involves architecting, engineering, and operating scalable, domain-specific AI systems, focusing on industry foundation models within the BMW Group. The Junior AI Engineer will be responsible for scaling AI workloads across high-performance GPU clusters, optimizing cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) for throughput and cost control, and managing storage and networking resources. A core part of the role includes designing and operating end-to-end AI systems, specifically focusing on fine-tuning and scalable serving of modern models. The position also requires supporting the MLOps layer by building tools for reliable deployment, real-time monitoring, and continuous improvement, alongside designing robust data pipelines and integrating AI services into production platforms. Candidates should possess a degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, strong Python programming skills, and operational knowledge of PyTorch for distributed training.
