Job Summary
This role involves leading the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Erlangen University Hospital, overseeing 47 staff members responsible for maintaining smooth, year-round operations of critical supply-side technical systems. The manager will coordinate IT-oriented maintenance for efficient operation of technical supply systems and support IT-supported energy management compliant with ISO 50001 standards. Key responsibilities also include providing expert consultation during the planning, construction, and commissioning phases of new building projects. The ideal candidate holds a Master's or equivalent engineering degree in a relevant discipline, possesses strong organizational skills, commercial knowledge, and proven leadership experience, ideally within a hospital environment. This is a critical full-time position offering job security within the public sector.
Required Skills
Education
Master's or Engineering Degree (University, FH, TH) in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Engineering, TGA, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Hospital Technology, or a comparable field, preferably combined with a skilled trade qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in a leading/management position (advantageous)
- Experience in the hospital sector (ideal)
- Experience in Project Management (advantageous)
- Experience with VgV (Public Procurement Ordinance) and VOB (Construction Contract Procedures) (basic knowledge advantageous)

- IT affinity and ability to quickly grasp technical facts and complex interrelationships.
