Job Summary
This role seeks an expert scientist to drive experimental high-power laser physics within a cutting-edge fusion project. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing complex laser systems, utilizing specialized architectures such as cryogenic lasers, Yb:YAG/YLF, and Optical Parametric Chirped-Pulse Amplification (OPCPA). Day-to-day tasks involve hands-on experimental work, system design, and utilizing simulation software like Python, Comsol, and CAD for modeling and analysis. A strong background, ideally a PhD, in physics or laser technology is essential, coupled with a proven track record in high-power laser development. The position requires a high degree of innovation and collaboration within an international team, making strong English communication skills mandatory for success.
