Process Development Engineer | Prozessentwickler (m/w/d)

Job Summary

This role involves working in the PECVD process development sector, focusing on thin, flexible SiOx barrier layers applied to PET bottles using high-performance coating machines (up to 60,000 bottles/hour). The Process Development Engineer will be responsible for optimizing coating processes based on evolving customer requirements and independently realizing and characterizing new developments in barrier coating technology. Key tasks include utilizing and advancing mathematical models for shelf-life (MHD) prediction, stabilizing and monitoring coating processes on complex laboratory and production systems, and supporting internal and external process commissioning and machine acceptance tests for high-performance equipment. The ideal candidate holds a technical or physical science degree, possesses multi-year professional experience, and demonstrates strong analytical skills and solution-oriented, independent work habits. Expertise in PECVD coating, permeation mechanisms, vacuum technology, or plasma diagnostics is highly desirable, along with very good English skills and a willingness to travel internationally (approx. 10%).
