Security Architect & Analyst (RIVIT 2) | Data Engineer

Job Summary
This critical role involves acting as a Security Architect and Analyst, focusing heavily on identifying threats and vulnerabilities, conducting security risk assessments, and defining appropriate measures within the Ministry of the Interior. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating, implementing, and testing security enhancements, developing and updating security information, and providing technical guidance to less experienced team members. The specialist will analyze the design and configuration of security management systems, perform organizational and technical audits, and present detailed reports on test results. Key requirements include extensive professional experience in IT Security, preferably with a relevant university degree, deep knowledge of application development across various platforms (IBM Mainframe, UNIX, Intel/Microsoft), and expertise in IT Service Management (ITIL/COBIT) and relevant standards (ISO 27000 series). The position requires excellent command of English and strong analytical skills to manage complex, interdisciplinary security matters.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor/Master/PhD) preferably in IT Security/Information Security, OR HTL/Matura. Preferred certifications include ITIL, COBIT, ISMS Manager & Auditor (ISO 27001), and PMA certification for Project Management.
Experience
- Fulfillment of professional qualification requirements for the RIVIT role "Security Architect & Analyst" (RIVIT 2)
- 9 years of professional experience with HTL/Matura education
- 7 years of professional experience with Bachelor's degree
- 5 years of professional experience with Master's degree
- 3 years of professional experience with PhD degree
- Extensive experience in conducting IT security audits
- Experience in IT security consulting
- Professional experience in application development and operations on IBM Mainframe, UNIX, and Intel/Microsoft platforms
Languages
Additional
- Austrian citizenship required. Willingness to travel, including within and outside the EU. Willingness to continuously study applicable jurisprudence, literature, legal regulations, and standard recommendations. Very good knowledge of the structure and processes of the Ministry of the Interior, or willingness to acquire it.
