Job Summary

This role involves working for the Freiburg Regional Council, focusing on industrial and municipal environmental regulation, specifically within waste management. The specialist will be responsible for conducting complex approval procedures under environmental, water, waste, and occupational safety laws for biogas and disposal facilities subject to the Industrial Emissions Directive or the Hazardous Incident Ordinance. Key duties include assessing plant safety, performing official monitoring and inspections (including environmental and hazardous incident inspections), and providing expert consultation to operators. The ideal candidate must possess knowledge of technical environmental protection, demonstrated professional experience, and strong organizational, communication, and team-working skills, along with the ability to work independently and exercise enforcement powers.
