Job Summary

The City of Frankfurt is seeking a dedicated Civil or Environmental Engineer to join the Water Management division, focusing on sustainable urban development and water resource protection. This role involves managing complex water projects across all phases of the HOAI (Fee structure for Architects and Engineers), including project steering and developing vital flood protection measures. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing the EU Water Framework Directive and local resolutions concerning natural river development, specifically along the Nidda. Key responsibilities also include advising municipal departments and citizens on water development and flood protection issues, preparing official reports for city councils, and contributing to maintenance plans for water bodies. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field, professional experience in hydraulic engineering projects, and strong knowledge of relevant legal and technical standards, offering a challenging and impactful role in shaping the city's environment.

Completed University Degree (Bachelor) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or comparable field

Experience

  • Long-term professional experience in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a comparable field (required if only Bachelor's degree is held)
  • Professional experience in planning or executing hydraulic engineering projects
  • Professional experience with procurement and construction contract law (VOB/VOB) is desirable
  • Professional experience creating service specifications is desirable
  • Construction site management experience (Bauleitung) is desirable
