Job Summary

The International University Center "Alexander von Humboldt" at TU Bergakademie Freiberg is seeking a dedicated Lecturer for Special Tasks in Physics to support the preparatory training of international students. This is a part-time position (50%, 20 hours/week) and is fixed-term until February 2029. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching physics (12 teaching units), developing and grading exams, including the final assessment test, and actively participating in the organization and execution of the preparatory college program. Key qualifications include a university degree in Physics (Diploma, Master, or equivalent), several years of experience in teaching and examination activities, preferably in a university setting, and native-level German proficiency. This role requires high engagement, strong organizational skills, and pronounced intercultural competence to effectively work with a diverse international student body, contributing significantly to the quality assurance and evaluation of the training concept.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in teaching and examination activities in Physics
  • Professional experience in a university context (ideal)
  • Experience in study-preparatory training at a Studienkolleg (desirable)
