Job Summary
This role involves working as a Scientific Researcher within the Data Evaluation department of the Cancer Registry of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, focusing on improving the quality of oncological care through data analysis. The primary responsibilities include conceptualizing and executing register-based clinical and epidemiological evaluations concerning incidence, care, and outcome quality. Day-to-day tasks involve generating data reports, tables, graphs, and clear result presentations for various stakeholders, supporting research inquiries with data preparation and methodological advice, and continuously developing data management and evaluation strategies to ensure reproducibility and quality. Key qualifications include a scientific university degree in fields like Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, or Medicine, coupled with profound knowledge of empirical methods and statistics. Candidates must also possess comprehensive experience with evaluation software and programming languages, specifically R, SAS, and SQL, along with strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach. The position offers a meaningful, permanent full-time role with flexible and hybrid working options.
Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university degree (Bachelor/Master/Diploma or comparable) in Epidemiology/Public Health, Biostatistics, Medicine, Biology, (Bio)Informatics, Psychology, Data Science, or comparable field.
Experience
- Professional experience in register-based evaluations (incidence, care, outcome quality)
- Comprehensive experience utilizing evaluation software and programming languages (R, SAS, SQL)
- Experience in analyzing medical routine data or registry data (quality, completeness, plausibility) (Desirable)
- Experience in Survival/Trend analyses and Indicator development (Desirable)
- Experience in Oncology, Health Services Research, or Public Health issues (Desirable)
