Job Summary
This critical leadership role involves taking overall responsibility for the entire IT landscape of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Cancer Registry, operating within a highly sensitive and strictly regulated environment focused on processing and analyzing medical data. The Head of IT will lead a small, specialized team (growing to 4-5 employees), manage external IT service providers, and drive the strategic development and architecture of the IT systems. Key responsibilities include ensuring stable, secure, and legally compliant IT operations, especially regarding data protection (GDPR/DSGVO) and specific healthcare regulations (§ 65c SGB V). The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics and brings at least three years of experience in a responsible IT position, demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills. This position offers significant strategic influence and high societal relevance, with flexible working models including partial home office.
