Job Summary

This critical role as an IT Systems Electronics Technician involves ensuring the continuous operation and high security of IT-supported operational systems essential for the safe interim storage of radioactive waste in Germany. Day-to-day responsibilities include the continuous testing, maintenance, installation, and setup of both networked and non-networked technical systems, such as crane and PLC controls (e.g., Siemens Simatic S7). You will also play a key part in implementing IT security measures, managing access controls, maintaining asset inventories, and creating comprehensive operational and security documentation. The ideal candidate possesses completed vocational training in electronics or automation technology, complemented by broad IT expertise. You must bring fundamental professional experience working with PLCs and operational IT applications, coupled with strong knowledge in troubleshooting and maintaining complex technical systems. Knowledge of operating systems and network infrastructure (LAN, industrial bus systems) is highly desirable. This position offers an unlimited contract, an attractive GWE tariff salary, and significant contribution to national nuclear waste management safety.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering, Automation Technician, or comparable electro-technical specialization with broad IT expertise.

Experience

  • Fundamental professional experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and operational IT applications
  • Experience in troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of networked and non-networked technical systems
