Job Summary
This role involves the comprehensive development, implementation, construction, and testing of electrical and optical components and cutting-edge laser systems specifically for medical products. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing power and control electronic boards, creating circuit diagrams, and implementing safety concepts (electrical and laser power safety) to ensure functional safety and regulatory compliance (CE, FDA, MHLW). The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in engineering or science with a specialization in laser physics or electronic engineering and possesses at least six years of experience developing laser and electrical devices, preferably medical ones. The position requires advanced knowledge of electronics (power, digital, analog, microprocessor technology) and optical laser systems. This is a critical, collaborative position, requiring strong teamwork and analytical skills to deliver innovative, cost-efficient solutions that enhance Dornier MedTech’s competitive edge and commercial success.
Required Skills
Education
Master’s degree in science and engineering with specialization in laser physics, electronic engineering, or biomedical engineering with focus on optronics. Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820.30, IEC 14971, IEC 62366, IEC 60601-1, and IEC 60601-1-2 standards.
Experience
- Minimum 6 years in development of laser and electrical devices
- Professional experience in R&D
- Experience in design implementation and characterization of high-performance laser systems
- Experience in design and development of power and digital electronic boards
- Experience in creation of electrical circuit diagrams
- Experience in performing Design Transfer to production
