Job Summary

The Senior Quantitative Genetics Scientist will drive the development, implementation, and refinement of quantitative genetics innovations within the product design pipeline, focusing on enhancing germplasm cohorts aligned with product concept goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include executing the technical strategy for quantitative genetics, supporting Precision Breeding projects, and applying strong technical expertise in programming and deploying models for breeding program optimization. This role requires collaboration with multifunctional, global teams across various regions (NA, LATAM, APAC) to boost genetic progress and product performance in at least one crop. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Quantitative Genetics or a related field with relevant experience, or a Master's degree with extensive experience in developing quantitative genetics methods for routine use in breeding programs. Required Skills

Education

PhD in Quantitative Genetics, Plant Breeding, Animal Breeding, or a related scientific field; or a Master's degree in a related field

Experience

  • Professional experience in developing quantitative genetics methods for routine use in breeding programs (required for Master's degree holders)
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and influencing activities of cross-functional teams without direct reporting lines
  • Multiple years of experience deriving quantitative genetics theory, programming, deploying, and utilizing algorithms and systems in at least two of the following areas: breeding program design/optimization, breeding target definition, automated crossing process optimization, genetic evaluation, or large-scale data collection optimization in plant or animal breeding programs
