Job Summary

The Federal Aviation Office (LBA) is seeking an IT System Administrator to join the Information and Communication Technology department in Braunschweig. This role is crucial for maintaining the IT infrastructure, ensuring security compliance, and providing essential user support. Day-to-day responsibilities involve setting up and maintaining central IT infrastructure (file servers, directory services, backup systems), administering Windows and Linux server environments, and managing server virtualization. The administrator will also be responsible for monitoring infrastructure, implementing IT security guidelines, and handling user support through First and Second Level Helpdesk activities, adhering to ITIL standards. Key requirements include a degree in Informatics or a related IT field, or relevant vocational training with extensive professional experience, along with critical knowledge in IT security, data protection, and IT-Grundschutz methodologies. This position offers the stability of a federal authority role and the opportunity to work on mission-critical systems within the German aviation sector.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree (FH/University of Applied Sciences) in Informatics, Technical Informatics, Electrical Engineering, Business Informatics, Administrative Informatics, or a comparable IT-related field, OR successfully completed vocational training in an IT-related profession.

Experience
