Job Summary

The Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt is seeking an accomplished academic for a W2 Professorship in Web Technologies. This role involves teaching and representing the field of Web Technologies across Bachelor's and Master's programs, focusing on applied computer science and practical relevance. The successful candidate will develop and implement new didactic concepts, conduct courses in areas like frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript), and contribute to server-side JavaScript, web application security, and performance. Beyond technical instruction, the Professor is expected to integrate soft skills training (Project Management, Change Management) into the curriculum and actively participate in academic self-governance and the acquisition of third-party funded research projects. This position requires strong scientific qualifications, extensive professional experience in the field, excellent communication skills, and the readiness to conduct courses in English, supporting the university's interdisciplinary and international focus.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Computer Science or a comparable field; Over-average scientific qualification, typically a corresponding doctorate (PhD)

Experience

  • Extensive professional experience in the application of current frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript libraries)
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of JavaScript on the server
  • Experience in the field of security and performance of web applications is desirable
  • Experience in research, evidenced by publications in renowned journals/conferences or equivalent achievements
  • High level of didactic experience
  • Experience in the development of web databases and web services (advantageous)
