Job Summary

This role involves operating and continuously developing the university-wide Identity Management (IDM) system at Bergische Universität Wuppertal. The professional will be responsible for gathering future IDM requirements in collaboration with university stakeholders, and for the conceptual design, planning, and maintenance of critical infrastructure and services dedicated to user authentication and authorization. Key development tasks include enhancing functionalities such as implementing additional interfaces, Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions, and 2-Factor Authentication. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent vocational training plus three years of relevant experience), coupled with deep expertise in directory services (OpenLDAP, AD), Linux system administration, and programming languages like Java, Python, or Perl. This is a crucial, permanent, full-time position within a dynamic university IT center.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor), ideally in a technical, mathematical, or natural science field (e.g., Computer Science) OR Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist.

Experience

  • Professional experience in providing availability-critical services
