Job Summary
This part-time (19.5 hours/week) role as a Drainage Systems Engineer in Dortmund's City Drainage Department offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the long-term sustainability of the city's private wastewater infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities involve the critical classification of damage found in property connection lines using video analysis and established reference catalogs. A significant portion of the role focuses on public interaction, requiring the engineer to consult property owners on-site regarding remediation options, backflow protection, and sustainable rainwater management. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Civil Engineering (Urban Water Management specialization) or a related field, or possesses extensive practical experience as a Master Sewer Technician. Strong water management knowledge and excellent communication skills, particularly empathy and the ability to convey complex technical information to non-experts, are essential. Required Skills
Education
