Job Summary

This role seeks a dedicated Microsoft Fabric & Datalake Engineer to manage and optimize large-scale data processing within a modern data architecture. Day-to-day responsibilities include ingesting, transforming, and processing vast datasets from diverse sources (Dynamics, files, SQL), optimizing Spark performance across data layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold), and migrating existing Power BI reports into the Fabric Lakehouse environment. The engineer will also design and maintain robust data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, analyze and enhance existing notebooks (Azure Databricks, PySpark), and model and maintain the Lakehouse data structure. Key qualifications include a degree in Computer Science or Data Science, coupled with strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, SQL, PySpark, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake (ADLS Gen2). The position offers a future-oriented, permanent contract with flexible working hours and opportunities for professional development, requiring excellent German and English skills and a willingness to collaborate on-site in Ulm or Stuttgart at least once a week.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, or a comparable field of study

Experience

  • Professional experience in data ingestion, transformation, and processing of large datasets
  • Professional experience optimizing data pipelines and Spark performance
  • Experience with Python and Azure Databricks (ideally)
  • Professional experience in developing and maintaining data architecture
