Job Summary

This role involves working as an IT Specialist in the 1st-Level Support Service Desk for the Saxon Police Administration Office (PVA) in Leipzig. The specialist acts as the Single Point of Contact for all IT infrastructure and application issues, including police systems, BOS digital radio, and control center systems for police, fire, and rescue services. Daily tasks include receiving and documenting inquiries, faults, and problems related to IT infrastructure, prioritizing and resolving or escalating issues using a ticketing system, and monitoring the control center network and technical systems. The ideal candidate has completed a three-year IT vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration) or an IT-focused university degree, possesses professional experience in IT support, and is prepared to work in a mandatory 24/7 shift system. This position offers a meaningful contribution to public safety and requires strong communication, service orientation, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.

Required Skills

Education

Completed three-year vocational training in IT (preferably as an IT Specialist for System Integration or IT System Electronics Technician) or a completed university degree with an IT focus.

Additional

  • Must be willing to work in a mandatory 24/7 shift system (Wechselschichtbetrieb). Requires successful completion of a security clearance (SÜ2) according to the Saxon Security Clearance Act. Position is full-time and cannot be filled part-time. Employment is temporary until March 31, 2027. Applicants who have previously been employed by the Free State of Saxony cannot be considered.
