Job Summary
This is a unique opportunity to join the State Enterprise for Geoinformation and Surveying (LGV) in Hamburg for a 15-month technical preparatory service (TOIA), leading to a potential permanent civil servant career. As a Geoinformatics Engineer Trainee, you will engage in a combination of practical work, training, and seminars, gaining interdisciplinary insights into the LGV's broad spectrum of tasks. Key responsibilities include maintaining and preparing geodata for public use, working with IT-based urban geo-applications, 3D visualizations, and surveying-related tasks. You will supplement your academic knowledge with content covering administration, law, planning, business, and finance, building a strong professional network. This role is ideal for recent graduates in Geodesy, Geomatics, or Geoinformatics who are seeking a structured entry into public service and are interested in shaping the city's future through innovative data management and spatial technologies. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Geodesy, Surveying, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Geoinformation Systems, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Completion of a university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Geodesy, Surveying, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, or a comparable field
- Practical experience through a 15-month preparatory service combining work, training, and seminars
- Professional interest in Geodesy and Geoinformation

- Must be under 40 years old at the time of employment. Must possess German, EU, or EEA citizenship (exceptions possible in individual cases).
