Job Summary

This role seeks a highly skilled and technically proficient individual to join the specialized IT Forensics unit (Kommissariat 33) in Ludwigshafen. The primary responsibility involves securing, analyzing, and processing digital evidence from computer and mobile systems, ensuring all documentation is admissible in court. Key tasks include providing technical investigative support to public prosecutors and police, conducting internet research, representing findings in court, and contributing to police training programs. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and possesses deep knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix), network components, and forensic software like Encase or X-Ways Forensics. This is a crucial role fighting for law and order in both the analog and digital worlds, offering a secure, permanent position within a state police authority.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Computer Science, IT Security, Communications Engineering, or a comparable technical field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT Forensics or a comparable technical field (required if qualifying via comparable qualification instead of a specific degree)
  • Experience in securing and analyzing digital traces in criminal cases
  • Experience with forensic specialized software and analysis tools
