Job Summary

This role requires an experienced Operational Equipment Engineer to lead the crucial approval processes for new electrical equipment destined for low and medium voltage networks. A core part of the daily work involves reviewing devices and components against stringent safety requirements, national standards, and regulatory frameworks (including FNN, VDE, DKE, and BDEW), thereby ensuring their safe and reliable operational capability. The engineer will serve as the primary technical interface, coordinating complex alignments between internal technical departments, customers, and external suppliers. Responsibilities span the entire testing lifecycle, from developing precise testing procedures and managing the operational equipment database to conducting acceptance tests and final evaluations. The ideal candidate must possess a degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering, coupled with significant practical experience in equipment testing, documentation, and quality assurance within the energy sector, demonstrating a structured and highly responsible approach to technical safety.

Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering, or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Very good practical experience with electrical operational equipment in medium and low voltage
  • Professional know-how in equipment testing and associated documentation
  • Experience in technical guidance of internal and external personnel
  • Experience in leading technical approval processes
