Environmental Protection Engineer | Ingenieur Umweltschutz (m/w/d)

Job Summary

This role involves working within the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team, focusing on environmental protection at the Dortmund or Essen location for Germany's largest distribution network operator. The Environmental Protection Engineer will be responsible for independently advising managers and supporting departments on critical environmental topics, including waste disposal, soil and water protection, and hazardous goods/materials management. A key focus will be the conceptual development of hazardous materials management and integrating new environmental and hazardous substance regulations into operational practice. Day-to-day tasks include designing and conducting training for staff, applying and developing IT tools for environmental protection, and preparing regular status reports and annual reports. This position is ideal for an individual with a background in engineering or environmental sciences who is committed to driving change, optimizing processes, and contributing to a sustainable energy supply while requiring travel within the Westnetz area.
