Job Summary
This part-time position (65%, TV-L 13) at the University Hospital Düsseldorf (UKD) offers a Scientific Research Associate or Doctoral Candidate the opportunity to join an international team within the Cardiology, Pulmonology & Angiology Clinic, specifically in the Heart Failure Section led by Prof. Dr. med. Amin Polzin. The role focuses primarily on fundamental scientific research, investigating new pathomechanisms and potential treatments for calcified aortic valve stenosis. Day-to-day tasks include conducting experimental animal models, performing molecular biological analysis of tissues, and actively contributing to the research group beyond your own doctoral project. The ideal candidate holds a university degree in natural sciences, veterinary medicine, or related fields, possesses strong curiosity for rigorous fundamental research, and is proficient in both German and English. This role provides significant autonomy, room for creativity, and opportunities for scientific development, including conference participation and extensive training.

Experience
- Experience in rigorous, methodical fundamental research
- Knowledge of laboratory animal science (Mouse/Rat) - EU Activity A (formerly FELASA B) is desirable
