Job Summary

This critical role involves leading and strategically steering the municipal heat planning initiative for the City of Bremen within the Department for Climate, Energy Transition, and Environmental Innovation. The Specialist will manage the entire project lifecycle, including time, budget, and resource control, while coordinating internal teams and external service providers. Key responsibilities include developing energy and climate strategies based on heat planning results, handling fundamental issues of the heat transition at a supra-regional level, and representing the department to stakeholders, political bodies, and the public. Candidates must possess a relevant Master's degree (Engineering, Environmental Science, Economics, or Urban Planning) and several years of professional experience in climate-neutral energy and heat supply, coupled with proven expertise in complex project management and relevant energy legislation (WPG, GEG). Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's or equivalent Diploma) in Engineering, Environmental Science, Natural Sciences (ideally focusing on Energy/Environmental Technology), Economics, Administration, Political Science (ideally focusing on Energy, Climate Protection, or Sustainability), or Urban and Spatial Planning. Alternatively, civil servant status with eligibility for Career Group 2, Second Entry Level, combined with one of the aforementioned Master's degrees.

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in climate-neutral energy and heat supply
  • Several years of professional experience in a project-leading or coordinating function
  • Professional experience in managing complex projects
  • Professional experience in handling funded projects, including budget monitoring and reporting
